Park was born in Cody on March 13, 1941 and attended Cody schools where he was a member of the 1959 Wyoming State Championship Football Team. He and Bettye Wogoman were married in 1962. During his 26 years of managing Gail Construction, the company was involved in the construction of many "show homes" in the Cody area. He also enjoyed the restoration and re-creation of historic buildings. In 1981, Gail Construction re-created Fredric Remington's New York studio as an exhibit in the Buffalo Bill Historic Center (see article). Like Walt, his interests included hunting, fishing, and aviation. He was an active member of the local chapters of the Elks, Lions, and Ducks Unlimited.
